Gary Gardner's ghost haunts U's in 3-2 loss vs Birmingham City
The U's looked to add to their unbeaten streak with an FA Cup tie against Birmingham City. Harris made a handful of changes including starting Rossi as Watts was dropped from the squad. Birmingham also played a rotated side. The U's came out at the races and were able to keep the ball well and prevent any chances that Birmingham tried to make. Out of form Birmingham face best defence in the country
Following the Grimsby game being called off only a few hours before kick off, the U's have had a few more days to rest before a huge cup tie. The FA Cup is known as the greatest competition in club football and with upsets occurring each year, all lower league sides are praying it's their lucky year. Which striker is coming to the Abbey
The U's enter 2026 on great form, a fantastic squad but still find themselves short of the promotion places. Harris will always be wanting to get better and a striker that can score and stay fit is all the U's need to secure a top 3 finish come May. Lavery and Appere have both had stints out in the physio room this campaign and Loft shouldn't be returning to the Abbey. This leaves either Kachunga or Kaikai to play through the middle which significantly takes away from their w
