Which striker is coming to the Abbey

The U's enter 2026 on great form, a fantastic squad but still find themselves short of the promotion places. Harris will always be wanting to get better and a striker that can score and stay fit is all the U's need to secure a top 3 finish come May.

Lavery and Appere have both had stints out in the physio room this campaign and Loft shouldn't be returning to the Abbey. This leaves either Kachunga or Kaikai to play through the middle which significantly takes away from their wide threats.

Target no.1

The U's will have to deal in the loan market in order to bring in a striker that fits the mould built by Harris & Co. Aaron Loupalo-Bi has been on an incredible run in the Premier League 2. With 7 goals and 2 assists in 8 games, in which he started in all of them, he possess a great threat in behind and can take his chances. With a love to have the ball at his feet and weave in between defenders, Loupalo-Bi would be a fantastic signing to come off the bench and have the ability to start when needed.

Target no.2

Bonner should be eyeing up youngster, Sonny Finch on loan from Middlesborough. With 5 goals in 8 throughout the Premier League 2 and a goal against National League promotion chasers Halifax Town, Finch is a hard working prospect. Winning 48% of his duels, he doesn't shy away from put his body through a war in order to help his team. At 5'11 and a bundle of determination, he would be an improvement on Kachunga up front and can allow Kaikai, Brophy and Knight to become more involved when the ball is pumped long.

Target no.3

A Cambridge United record breaker, legend and forever great of the club is up for loan and Bonner knows all about him. Paul Mullin should be at least a target this January. An explanation won't be needed when it comes to one of the greatest U's ever. It would be beneficial for all parties as Wrexham know he can get minutes and his confidence up, Mullin enjoys the Abbey and Harris has a great striker especially for this level.
