Tristan Ivison proud after FA Youth Cup victory

Ely U18 started their season last night with an FA Youth Cup 5-1 win to book their ticket into the next round. The debutant coach went into the game wanting a strong performance, and a strong performance is what he got. Ely dominated from minute one, and it took just 10 minutes for fans to see the first goal of the night. Heacham fought back, but two goals in five minutes to end the first half gave Ely a massive lead going into the halftime break.

The second half continued just as the first half ended, a goal apiece by the 60th minute gave Ely a 4-1 lead after giving away a penalty. As if the game hadn't already been won, Ely added another from a free kick, which found an unmarked teammate who headed it in from close range.

Tristan Ivison speaks on proud performance

"There was only one team in it throughout the 90" the young coach told us. "The excitement started way last night, on the drive over there, there was a bit of nervousness, but a good nervousness" Ivison told us following the 5-1 win. A 100% win rate in his competitive coaching career has given not only himself but the rest of the squad a great lift as they aim to compete on every front this season.

The 18-year-old coach dedicated the win "To the people that installed me here and got the move done, Chris the manager, Guy Habbin the first team manager and my family".
