A certainly good Friday for the U's

The U's entered this game knowing a defeat and a win for Burton Albion or Bristol Rovers would see the yellows relegated into League Two. Harris started with a 4-2-3-1 with a loan striker aiming to threaten in behind the Terriers back line.
A fairly unentertaining first half saw the home side have 38% possesion yet having a 0.35 xg from their 4 shots that landed off target a poor 64% pass accuracy didn't make the U's first half stats look good and with Bristol Rovers leading Wrexham it looked like the side in dark green were destined for relegation. No changes were made at half time and the atmosphere at the John Smith's Stadium was rather flat from both sets of fans.
The U's sustained pressure and continued to try and hit on the counter attack which paid off in the 69th minute. After Stokes put in an appetising cross towards which is poorly cleared inly as far to Brophy who took a composed touch on the edge of the box and from 18 yards out curls the ball into the far corner to open the scoring. The bagsman wheels away in celebration to the joy of the travelling amber army.
It was a determined and defensive performance from the U's for 89 minutes until a poorly defended corner found it's way to Josh Koroma who fired home and replicated NBA star Ja Morant's celebration. A goal that summed up the U's season. Unable to deal with the second ball then unable to clear the ball which falls to the forward to draw level.
However, it wasn't meant to be for the home side as James Brophy pulled the ball back across goal to Kaikai who perfectly struck home what would be the winner in the 92nd minute. Another great counter attack for the U's which was converted by the substitute. An eventful end to the game led to limbs in the away end and boos ring around the ground for the home side.
Another great performance from Brophy who deserves an apology from a large portion of the fan base.
3 POST MATCH TALKING POINTS
Does Kaikai deserve a start on Easter Monday over Kachunga? Today's substitute won the game whereas the former Bolton and Huddersfield playmaker has made little impact on games when he has played.
Is it too late to look at survival? With 3 games left of the season the U's sit 5 points behind both Bristol Rovers and Burton Albion it is almost impossible that the U's climb out of the bottom 4. Does this show that Harris is very good for this level or Monk wasn't close to good enough for League One coacing after so many years out the game?
Has Stevens been good enough to keep the no.1 shirt for next season? He hasn't made many mistakes since being back in betwen the sticks and been better with the ball at his feet.
