Battle for autos continue as MK Dons face United

The battle for automatic promotion is heating up with 3 consecutive draws from league leaders Bromley, United sit just 2 points behind and then MK D*ns, Notts County and Swindon Town all sit on 61 points. 4 points separating the top 5 with only 3 able to have guaranteed promotion into League One.

Cambridge United's fluid defender, James Gibbons, expressed his excitement throughout his press conference. Gibbons complimented the opposition, being aware of their good form and massive budget. The in form centre back made it clear he wants to avoid playoffs but knows that the squad need to keep doing their bit throughout the season to avoid the nail-biting anxiety of the playoffs. Neil Harris also aligned with Gibbons' view on the opposition, praising both the players, manager and financial muscle.

Paul Warne, MK D*ns manager, complimented the U's backline. Highlighting the U's strong defensive acumen and their threat from across the pitch and from set pieces. The former Derby County manager described this clash as "well exciting", showing his enjoyment leading up to the 12:30 kick off tomorrow.

MK D*ns are unbeaten since 1st January following a 1-0 loss on the road to Colchester. The U's last won in July 2022 courtesy of a beautiful Knibbs finish and sublime celebration in front of the away fans. Earlier in the season, I had the pleasure of catching up with Kaikai who made it clear his goal was to score and beat MK D*ns both home and away. The December clash saw Kaikai on the scoresheet but only a point was taken away.
