The U's will look to add to a modest and improving start to the season with a win at the Abbey against former rival Luton Town. From playing them twice a season to being 2 divisions below the travelling side, the U's will face Luton once again now only 1 division below them. An unfortunate back to back relegation for Luton, aligned with the U's relegation last season has left the 2 sides close once again.
The U's will be without Kaikai and Ball after missing out on Saturday, but big minutes can be expected from Knight, Kachunga, Jobe and Smith. Appere is still missing following his injury away at Grimsby.
Luton have struggled this season. They lost great players such as Mpanzu which has resulted in 0 back to back wins in any competition this season. Sitting in a lofty 11th place with 5 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw in League One they will be hungry to get back to winning ways despite it being a rather pointless cup game. I'd expect wholesale changes as we did when the U's came out on top against Charlton.
Luton fans are calling for ,Felixstowe native, Matt Bloomfield's head after the former Wycombe midfielder and manager has had a poor start to the season. With the recent sacking of Rangers manager Russell Martin and Bloomfield looking like he's on the way out, it could be a match made in purgatory for the Luton faithful.
