The U's have had a successful last few weeks including going the entire November unbeaten and not losing a game in 90 minutes since Notts County (A) on the 25th October. Since that loss the U's have gained 8 points in the league, get knocked out in the Vertu Motors Trophy and got ball no.57 in the FA Cup 3rd round draw.
Key performers
Mpanzu
The former Premier League midfielder has played incredibly well in November, including a brace to fend off Barrow. The powerful midfielder has played with confidence, flair and excitement which it's fair to say he lacked at the beginning of the season. With his form only getting better and the U's now sat 7th and only 3 points shy of the autos, the U's are on a real promotion push and Mpanzu has been a pioneer in this.
Eastwood
The former Grimsby shot stopper has been fantastic throughout the season, with his best month coming in November. The U's have been solid defensively for the most part but going a whole month conceding just 1 goal is ridiculous. 4 clean sheets 1 goal conceded and unbeaten is to be celebrated and Eastwood deserves appreciation for it. Likewise, Jobe and Bennet have also stood out last month.
What's next?
Up next is a home tie against Chesterfield following the penalty shootout win vs Stockport County in the FA Cup 2nd round. The U's will play their first League Two game and their last game of the calendar year against Chesterfield, first at home and then on the road. December looks to be a tough month with 3 games against teams in the top 10 and Accrington Stanley at home.
The FA cup draw will also be drawn later today, with many hoping for a Premier League giant. Now that replays are scrapped, the U's will be forced to make the most of the game no matter where it's played. Having already played Fulham this season, another Premier League away day will be welcomed by all those supporting the U's.
