Horrific U's fall to Rovers

The U's returned to Bristol aiming to make it 6 points in 1 week. All stats going into the game leaned to the U's. Rovers were without a win this season and to make it even better for the U's, they haven't scored at home all season. Harris' men were coming off a 2-1 win in Essex which gave belief to the travelling Amber Army.
The start was lackluster, sloppy and poor. They couldn't keep the ball in the attacking third, lumped it long to nobody and couldn't keep the ball. It took just over 30 minutes for the deadlock to be broken. Rovers got their first home goal through Harrison. A long throw undid the awful defensive block in the box. The U's couldn't deal with the first ball and the second ball fell to an unmarked Harrison. A depressing goal to concede. The game didn't get any better. An awful first half was thankfully signaled by the ref as the home side had something to cheer about for once.
The second half saw the introduction of Mpanzu and Brophy. A tactical and personnel change for Harris to try and get a brace of goals to turn the game around. I will save all of you 45 minutes so you don't need to rewatch the second half. The ball was either in the air or out of the ground. Long ball after long ball. Defensively this Sunday league style was in full action. When defending the ball we try to contain the opposition by swarming the ball with just sheer amount of bodies in a close proximity. Unfortunately although this may work in FIFA it doesn't work in League 2. This leaves us very exposed in behind and on the switch as the numeracy of the situation doesn't make sense. This with the additional poor 1v1 defenders in the team it simply doesn't work. The U's had 0 shots on target all game. Yes that is correct. In 103 minutes of football against a side who hasn't won all season Neil Harris' Cambridge United had 0 shots on target. No real chances were created. No players played well but Kachunga was awful once again. Such a shame that players such as Knight are being dropped to accommodate Kachunga. Another awful game, and in a game that could have easily been a draw the U's find themselves without any points. Just to rub salt in the wound, Jobe was sent off for absolutely nothing. Horrific officiating. Horrific to watch. Horrific way to end the week.
