The U's came out 4-2 victors on Saturday courtesy of a Watts brace as well as a thunderous Lavery finish and a game cementing goal from Knight. The U's defended well for the majority of the game but individual errors had the U's fighting from behind twice.
Shrewsbury Town were also involved in a 6 goal game but it was unflattering for them. A 5-1 loss on the road to MK Dons was not their intended result after finally getting a win in a relegation 3 pointer against Harrogate Town, who sit 24th with just 18 points.
Last time out
The U's travelled to Shrewsbury once again, after both sides were relegated together last season, with a win in sights. Unfortunately, Saturday 11th October was a day to forget for Harris & Co as they lost 2-0. That loss was the first that the Amber Army had witnessed against Shrewsbury since January 2023. 2 first half goals from Lloyd and Boyle was all that the game wrote and one that Cambridge United fans will forget.
Keys to victory
The U's will need to stay composed in front of goal and take their chances as Shrewsbury can be a very tough team to break down. With a varied formation in recent fixtures, they could either play a 4-4-2 or a 3-4-3. If they elect to play a 4-4-2 than the key match ups will be in the middle of the pitch whereas the game will be won or lost in wide positions if Shrewsbury play with a 3 back.
Transfer Updates
Harris confirmed he is still looking at bringing further additions with just shy of a week left in the windows. U's fans can expect to see 1 if not 2 more signings this week, 'certainly' going to be an attacking player with the injury to Adam Mayor.
