The greatest cup competition in the world returns to the Abbey

The U's return the FA cup with a home tie against Chester FC. The non league knocked out Morecambe in the 4th qualifying round. The U's are hoping for a comfortable victory to book a ticket into the 2nd round but the last time we faced a non league side in the competition we had to win through a penalty shootout. With no replays in the FA Cup anymore the same result is certainly on the cards.

The U's will likely start with Kouassi and Kachunga through the middle as Lavery will be another 6-8 weeks due to a hamstring injury that saw his removed in the Notts County game. Appere is still going to be a few weeks until we see him get some serious minutes.

Ben Knight, Liam Bennet and Korey Smith are all expected to get considerable minutes against a lower ranked opposition and they all could do with 60+ minutes in the tank. Hopefully, McConnell can play a full 90 as he has played very well this season in the minimal cameos he has popped up with.

We are predicting a 3-0 win for the U's with goals from Knight, Kouassi and Jobe from a set piece.
