With all the bookies and fans declaring the U's as the favourites it was vital that they ensured there would be no upsets in this magical competition. The U's introduced Smith, Bennett, Knight and others whilst also maintaining a strong 11 that wouldn't suffer a cup upset.
The U's were fantastic in the first half with 2 goals from bagsman Kouassi courtesy of 2 Brophy assists and the favour was repaid as Kouassi set Brophy's fantastic curled goal. A dominant first half and despite the fantastic away support the home side found themselves 3-0 up at the half time whistle.
The U's took their foot off the gas in the second and Chester made a great account for themselves by not only being loud but also holding United in moments. It was an easy affair in the end for Harris & Co who are now in round 2 of the FA cup and await their opposition.
The U's will have to wait until about 18:45 to find out who they'll play on Monday. Teams such as AFC Totton and Gateshead are still in the draw, which on paper will be an easier affair for the U's. However, P*sh are also in the draw and a round 2 home tie derby would be fantastic. Always a good way to book your way into a draw against the Premier League teams following a derby dismantling. U's are ball number 33 for tomorrow's draw.
