The U's enter game week 36 in League Two sat in 2nd, 5 points below Bromley with a game in hand. 3 points separate 2nd and 5th and then a further 3 points gap separates 6th place Chesterfield and 11th placed Walsall. As for Accrington Stanley they sit 15th, 10 points off the playoffs but 19 points safe from the drop.
Shane McLoughlin will be out for this fixture but Harris is hopeful to have the fantastic midfield maestro back for the Gillingham game next weekend. Harris confirmed it is an achilles injury and further updates can be expected next week. Harris confirmed minutes for Kouassi and Mayor in a behind the scenes friendly, who 'could be pushed' to make the Gillingham game but will likely be involved in the following week with games against Walsall and Salford.
"Journeys don't bother us" - Neil Harris
Harris spoke about the relentlessness and fight that his side has shown throughout the season. Long trips across the country and even into Wales hasn't affected his side. Harris looked more excited to go to Accrington despite the 404 mile round trip.
Head to Head
In the last 5 clashes, United have won 3 times compared to Stanley who have won twice. The last time Stanley beat United at home a 2nd half Ironside goal couldn't claw back all 3 points as the home side took all 3 points in a 2-1 win. In 5 of the last 6 fixtures played at Peel Park, Accrington Stanley have won.
Keys to victory
The U's will need to be patient and effective on the ball as Accrington Stanley average just 48.6% possession a game. Despite being in the bottom half of the table, they sit 6th in goals conceded with just 1.1 a game. Accrington Stanley aren't brilliant going forward but are very solid defensively with their system allowing either a 5 or a 3 at the back depending on how the game is going.
Player to watch
Accrington Stanley's player to watch is Isaac Heath. The traditional winger has played as a wingback this season in League Two and has been fantastic. 4 goals and 4 assists in his 29 starts for Stanley is unbelievable for a 21 year old.
