What went wrong vs Swindon Town

Despite scoring twice the U's conceded 3 goals including 2 in the space of 4 minutes midway through the first half. It wasn't all doom and gloom as Brophy put the U's 1-0 up inside 5 minutes courtesy of a good cross from Kaikai which was poorly dealt with a fell to the fan favourite to hammer home. A fantastic goal and a great start to the game set the U's up for a second win of the season.
However, it wasn't meant to be as on the half an hour mark Morrison gave the ball away just inside the U's half and Swindon were able to grab an equaliser from abosluetly nowhere. A poor goal to concede which stemmed from veteran centreback and captain Morrison. The U's kicked the game off but were clearly frazzled by the goal and saw themselves 2-1 down only minutes later. The U's were picked apart from a throw in out of all things which forced a switch of play and the eventual cross that saw Smith head home. Half time 2-1 and the U's gifting Swindon both of their goals.
A much needed talking to was given at half time but that didnt seem enough as in minute 52 the home side went 3-1 up. A decent cross into the box saw Eastwood only able to parry it. The ball fell once again to a Swindon man and after a either poor shot or good cross, the ball fell to an unmarked Oldaker who headed home. Another poor goal to concede. Lazy, embarrassing and awful defending once again.
The U's got one back through Kaikai. Ben Knight's corner was cleared at the near post however Kaikai was there on the edge of the box who hit it first time through the crowd of bodies and the ball found it's way into the back of the net. This wasn't enough to mount what would be a great comeback and the U's fell short and came home with 0 points.
Positives
Kaikai is still performing and showing his quality. This is vitally important as we will need to rely on goal output across the pitch with no player with a prior high goalscoring record.
Brophy got onto the scoresheet. What else needs to be said? A fan favourite netting his first of the season so early is simply lovely.
Negatives
We still can't defend. Granted this was a good side with a good striker but conceding 3 goals in the fashion we did is embarrassing and shows no growth from last season. We will need to be much improved come Tuesday for our carabao cup fixture against Bristol Rovers.
Our midfield runs the risk of being swallowed up with the only big body being Ball. This could make games against a tall side very frustrating and can result in dropped points.

Didn’t get to catch the game as I was away, great read, devastating news.
Morrison made an unfortunate mistake but there were enough defenders around that Swindon scorer to get a tackle in, nobody tried to do so. All the embarrassing comments saying it was because Morrison is too old and slow - it had nothing to do with age or legs. Smith's goal was basic positioning and watching your player. Morrison was stuck between two, take a look back at the video and see where Liam B was. Smith was his man, not ideal size for size but never the less. This is Liam's weakness. Leaving players out wide when all back and defending the post. Mpanzu [rusty and not up to speed yet] cocked up, he knows and we know that. Nine times out…
