Which United will turn up?

The U's are next at home this Saturday with a 12:30 kick off against Fleetwood Town. The U's have showed signs of quality throughout the opening 6 weeks of the season but have struggled to stay consistent. 3 points have been dropped through our own doing which has frustrated Harris. Most recently against Grimsby, which led to Harris allegedly striking a Grimsby Town player and throwing a water bottle at another. Harris doesn't hide his emotions to the media, fans or players which signifies that he truly cares for the club and his players. Simply put, the players are making their own mistakes far too often. A silly decision from Kouassi led to a draw last weekend and Dom Ball giving the ball away cheaply against Oldham eventually cost us the game. Although human mistakes are to be expected, they seem to be happening too often and in very unnecessary situations. However, it's not all doom and gloom at the Abbey as Brophy, Kaikai and Mpanzu are all getting better as the season progresses. New singings, Eastwood and Purrington seem to be improving at a very fast pace.

Injuries

The U's will be without Appere for at least 3-4 weeks with a hamstring strain but Lavery is getting up to speed and will likely be called upon a lot in the coming month. Harris will be looking to involve Korey Smith on Tuesday against Fulham with his fitness levels improving as the days pass by.

What's gone wrong?

Harris, in his most recent press conference, mentioned that his players just need to improve that 1% in order to get over the line in close games. Harris put this down the hunger of missing out on all 3 points despite playing well.

Loans

The U's have sent JJ Briggs and George Hoddle out on loan in recent weeks and Harris spoke highly of Hoddle. The lack of gametime for George won't help his development but after 2 90 minute performances, the midfielder has already gained valuable experience from a staff group that he knows well. As for Glenn McConnell, the Brazilian born wonderkid is a favoured by staff at the club and his future is to be decided in the coming weeks with Brighton U21's and Fulham to be played in the coming Tuesday's. Harris is aiming for a National League move for the 20 year old as his ability is of one.

Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood Town sit just 1 point ahead of the U's in the table, with 1 win in their last 6 fixtures. They've faced similar consistency issues as the U's in the opening few weeks of the season. With an average of 1.3 goals scored and conceded they are a very solid side that can cause an upset but also fall short in games. With an average of 26.8 long balls a game, they have showed their ability to play long and despite it not always working, they won't shy away from it. There is no doubt they can attack, with an xg of 11.8 they sit 7th in League Two for xg. This is a stat that can be overhyped at times but it certainly shows that they can create goalscoring opportunities.
