Harris was proud of his side for the way they managed to win despite a 'reality check' in a tough fought win against Shrewsbury. Harris felt that the U's should have converted 3 chances which were all missed, which would have completely changed the game.
Harris went on to explain the half time changes. Liam Bennett was brought off not for any fault of his own but due to Gibbons being on fantastic form. Admittedly, Hoddle shouldn't have started despite his brilliant performances as of late, being described as 'so bloody brilliant' by Neil Harris, due to a lack of sharpness. Harris described Hoddle as being a half yard off in the first 45 minutes which is a fair comment that can be spread throughout the team.
Shrewsbury made the game hard throughout the 90 minutes which caused a lack of penetration in behind. However, it was the lack of moving the ball around the back which also added to Shrewsbury's tough mid block.
'We don't need people being negative with players I've never known it here and I won't tolerate it here' Neil Harris
Harris was pleased with the 5 consecutive home league wins and yet another clean sheet and encouraged everyone from fans to players to be positive. This is how a winning culture is started and continued over time.
