Harris hosts the Hatters

Following the positive news of the appointments of Harris and Bonner earlier in the week the U's will aim to get back to winning ways on Saturday. Harris has a tough task for his return to the Abbey, facing an inform Stockport side who haven't lost a game since their FA cup tie against Crystal Palace. 6 wins from their last 7 games put the away side in 4th. A tough first game for the former Millwall man. The U's enter this new chapter of management 24th on 23 points. 8 points from safety with 15 games left of the season is certainly a tall order, however with Harris at the wheel it makes it seem more achievable.

A new style of play is bound to be noticeable. Harris has a distinct defence first, attack later approach which will make us hard to beat. This is a key component for a squad battling relegation. A back 4 is to be expected and a lot of ariel duels will be targeted towards Ryan Loft. Loft with 2 goals in the league this season will be hoping to keep his spot as the main striker as Nlundulu gains fitness. I'd expect to see Brophy out wide instead of in the midfield. 6,500 U's are expected to be in attendance for the second welcoming of Harris. As Bonner said in his shared press conference, every game is important. Bonner has been in this situation and to be in this position again will help massively. 15 cup finals approach us and an estimated 20 points will be needed in order to stay up if not more. Yet to play Peterborough and other relegation rivals does make the great escape that little bit more doable.

Although momentum seems to have swung at the Abbey, Stockport County have had a tremendous season. Their talisman, Louie Barry, was recalled in January by Aston Villa however this hasn't stopped the newly promoted side continue their good form. A side that attacks brilliantly and has a solid defense. Stockport have scored the 4th most in League One, further showing their strengths finding the back of the net. Stockport's away record sits them 6th in the table, winning 6 drawing 6 and losing 4. This contrasts Cambridge United's 4 wins 4 draws and 7 losses in their 15 home games in League One. If the xg table is anything to go off of then Stockport would be the league leaders, sitting on a 2 point lead. This specific table would be the U's 17th and 6 points above the drop.
