The former Charlton and Bristol City coach has now left the U's after 8 months at the club. In a short statement from the club, the details aren't clear as to why they've parted company with the former Jamacia international. However, following a short statement from Mark Bonner the reasons allude to "Neil [Harris]... appointing hid own assistant head coach".
Following this brave decision from the club it opens the floodgates for speculation once again at the Abbey. An expected decision from the club is to also part ways with Barry Corr, the other assistant head coach. This would allow Harris' favoured assistant head coach to have full control. The likely favourite for this position is David Livermore who followed Harris at Gillingham and for his reappointment in February 2024. David Livermore has had 2 stints as head coach with Histon in the 2010-11 season and in 2024-25 on a caretaker basis.
Despite Corr seeming next to part ways with the club, it is likely to see him at the Abbey for the remainder of the season due to his affinity with the club. The last game of the season is at the Abbey and it's possible the club will want to get an official send off in that tie against Birmingham City.
