With not long until contracts officially expire and United announce some newcomers, it's a perfect time to start the rumour mill and look forward to who could be in between the sticks in League Two.
Starting the list off is Jamaican international Coniah Boyce-Clarke who has been released from Reading. The 22 year old hasn't been able to make an impact at the Royals after coming up through their academy, however is rated very highly. The youngster stands 1.83m tall and has had loan spells at St Albans and Welling in the non league set up. His stats in the Premier League 2 aren't outstanding however football is played on grass and not on a stats sheet so they can be taken with a pinch of salt. An imposing goalkeeper who has cat like reflexes yet still plenty to learn could build a great case for us to pick him up. Bonner and Harris may be looking for a more veteran goalkeeper however having a highly rated youngster who is worth 250k and made an international appearance certainly wouldn't hurt especially if we can sign him for free.

Bonner has posted his attendence in lower league games and Harrison Male could be high up on his list. The 24 yeard old at York conceded 34 times in 41 league matches which is astonoshing. Luckily for the U's, York weren't able to go up via the playoffs and as a result will allow Harris to have even more poaching power to take the Englishman to the Abbey. Having kept 19 clean sheets in teh highest tier of non league football it is clear to everyone that this young man can play at League Two level. The board may need to open their wallet and look underneath the sofa as he's under contract at York for another year however, it seems worth it with his recent trajectory. In 5 years he's gone from playing for Leeds U23 to being one, if not, the best keeper in the National League. A true credit to his hard work and performances over the last half a decade.

A player that will need a lot of convincing is Harvey Davies. The welshman is yet to feature for Slot at Liverpool and is seeming unlikely to with his contract winding down. The 21 year old had a loan move to Crewe in 23/24 wasn't much to rave about but since has played for Liverpool U21. He made 3 appearences in the EFL trophy, conceding 6 and keeping 1 clean sheet whilst conceding 17 in 10 in the Premier League 2. Standing 1.90m, Davies is a powerful figuire and in need of a move to prove his level in the top 4 flights of English football. If his contract isn't renewed this could be a great chance to swoop in for a young keeper who is eager to prove his worth. Likewise if his contract his renewed, it could be a great way for all parties to improve and prove thier quality. Harris may not want to take this chance on such a young and rather unimpressive resume.

An experienced veteran of the game could be a priority for Harris and co. David Button has been released from Reading and is unemployed. A 1 year contract could be handed to the former Fulham, Brighton and West Brom sweeper celebrated his 36th birthday a few months ago and granted he is happy to relocate or make the long commute to CB5, could be on his way to join Harris. The stats or eye test aren't partically pleasing for Button, however his experience cannot be understated and is a crucial trait when making many changes at a club. Since Morrison is staying for another year, we could have a fairly old core at the Abbey.
