We start our final part of our transfer targets series with a 38 year old veteran striker. Steven Fletcher is departing financial powerhouse Wrexham and will be able to be signed on a free. The former Marsille, Wolves and Sunderland no.9 will be wanting 1 last hurrah in the proffesional game. A veteran that would be essential to helping Loft improve and allow Lavery to rest his hamstrings. 8 goals and 1 assist in 40 games last season shows he can find the net and stay fit. A player who is similar to Loft but with a much better resume and bags more experience could help the U's push for promotion. Standing at just over 6 foot tall the long balls will have a clear target and off teh ball Fletcher will need 2 defenders on him at all times. The biggest question mark is his age and for understandable reasons however Harris clearly favours those with experience.

Up next is a young striker, available on loan if he chooses to extend his contract at West Brom. Reyes Cleary has had a fantastic end of the season with 6 goals and 2 assists in 20 games for Hartlepool after an unsuccessful loan at Walsall. Despite a poor League Two loan, now his confidence is high it would be the best time to sign him for a season long loan. Harris may excite the youngster enough to sign on free and welcome a young permanant player. In 21/22 and 22/23 Cleary netted 34 times in 26 Premier League 2 appearences. He has a God given ability to find the back of the net and it would be perfect to play him through the middle of a front 3. A youngster that at 17 years old was tipped to sign for Bayern Munich would be a fantastic addition to the U's attacking line.

As we drift out to the left, Emilio Lawrence is a great loan signing that should be on our radar. With experienced players like Kaikai (if he stays) and Brophy to learn from the Man City youngster could be a great signing. With 7 goals and 7 assists in 20 Premier League 2 appearences, Lawrence has a knack for both creating and taking chances and to have a player with great flair and raw ability would be a great improvement on current options. Harris may shy away from Lawrence due to him being 19 and inexperienced in mens football. Lawrence loves being direct and showing off his unbelievable technical skills.

Last but not least on the right wing we have highlighted Ben Knight who is rumoured to have been training with the squad since February. Originally, from Cambridge he has played for Man City U18, U21 and U23 as well as Crewe and Stockport. After a failed move in Spain's third divison the youngster is back home needing football. The club will be taking a huge risk on Knight who's track history is far from impressive. The positives are that he's young, hungry and close to home which will allow him to be confident and relaxed to perform week in week out. I personally wouldn't sign him as there's not much to judge him on and we aren't in the position to sign these types of players.
