Newport County
Newport County are one of 4 Welsh teams in the English top 4 leagues. Sat in League 2, the lowest of the 4, The Exiles just about stayed up last season. Following their tight survival last season they are bound to be back down there this season. With David Hughes in charge, it is hard to identify how Newport County will set up. Following an unimpressive 9 year career as a player he is yet to make a splash as a manager which makes it very difficult to predict how he will set his team up until early August. I believe that Hughes wasn't the right signing appointment with his League Two debut set for 2nd August at Rodney Parade. County have had a difficult last 40 years with an upwards battle with finances but have remarkably got themselves in League 2 despite not being from England.

Notts County
The oldest professional team in the world, founded in 1862, will face the U's at Meadow Lane in late October. Martin Paterson will lead Magpies this season following his time with Burton Albion. Noticeably, the Magpies will be without veteran no.9 David McGoldrick going into the 25-26 campaign. Notts County will be right in the playoff picture once again after falling short to Wimbledon in the playoff semi finals. With this signing of Norburn to add to their midfield strengths they have all the makings of a top 6 side without a shadow of a doubt.

Oldham Athletic
Following promotion for the Owls, they will be able to play League Two football next year. They will be able stay up and are certainly capable of achieving a solid mid table finish. Oldham Athletic have noticeably signed for U Luke Hannant since his departure from Gateshead. The Owls call Boundary Park home with a 13,560 capacity which is one of the biggest stadiums in League Two. A side that must be in League Two is finally back and will face the U's at the Abbey in September and again on the 31st January.

Salford City
A very new club to both the division and professional football and following further big investment from the '92 lads. Their rise up League 2 is immanent after falling short of playoffs last season I can really see the Ammies make a push for promotion. Led by Karl Robinson they have a great manager, a great board with cash ready to spend and a good crop of players which usually results in success. The Ammies will travel down south in March after hosting the U's in November. These 6 points will be crucial for both sides as they are both fighting for the same positions. A good 2 games are on the cards this season.
