Cambridge United welcome Huddersfield Town to the Abbey

Cambridge United return to the Abbey following the 1-0 Carabao Cup loss on Tuesday. Huddersfield Town will travel down wanting to continue their unbeaten streak following a 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon and a draw on the road to MK Dons. With both sides sitting on four points and inside the playoff places just two games into the League One season, a tough-fought battle can be expected on Saturday.

Derensili Sanches Fernandes

Following a move from Excelsior in the summer, Fernandes cemented himself in the EFL with a brace on his League One debut. The direct winger excites fans with his pace in behind, beautiful ball control and ability to finish when the chance arises. The left-footed 25-year-old will cause the United backline trouble from the right-hand side whilst also offering a threat from behind the striker.

New signings ready for Saturday

Ra’ees Bangura-Williams

Cambridge United confirmed the loan signing of Ra’ees Bangura-Williams from Millwall for the remainder of the season. The dynamic attacking midfielder has joined the group after impressing on Tuesday. Having spoken to Mr Millwall, George Cole, about the signing, he told us what to expect from the former Tooting and Mitcham player. A "very raw, but technically good left-footed" player who ultimately needs a loan move to get consistent minutes. Bangura-Williams can play as a 10, 8 and even off the wing but ideally suits an 8 the most. With McLoughlin out for the next six weeks and Stead out for the next four to five weeks, this is a necessary signing. Hoddle is also aiming for a return to the squad in a similar time frame to Stead.

Injury news

Patrick Bauer hasn't been ruled out for tomorrow's clash, but there would be no surprises if he were to remain on the bench against Huddersfield and Bradford. McLoughlin will remain out for the next six weeks at least, while we are just over a month away from seeing Stead's debut. Gassan Ahadme has made good progress in his first 45 minutes of the season. There have been no injury setbacks since Tuesday's defeat.
