Millwall travel down to the Abbey Stadium for the first time in just over four years. After facing off against each other in consecutive seasons half a decade ago, Cambridge United will look to make it back-to-back wins against the Championship side. Now, first-team coach Liam O'Neil gave United a 1-0 win in 2022 and will hope to play an integral role on the sideline in tomorrow's tie.

Magnificent Millwall top the Championship

Millwall have started their season just as they left off last season, with two wins from the opening two Championship matches and leading the table after a week of football. Millwall have scored five goals, ranking them joint top with the most in the Championship. Their defence leads the league, having conceded the joint least (0).

A red-hot start saw Millwall beat Bristol City 2-0 on opening day before putting three past Norwich on Saturday. Now with a trip to the Abbey, Millwall will look to threaten the United backline and control the ball as they have done so well already this season. Millwall have taken 43 shots in just two games already and have shown a knack for testing goalkeepers from minute one.

Expected U's changes

A rotated lineup is almost guaranteed as the U's will face Huddersfield on Saturday before a Tuesday away trip to Bradford. McConnell, Lavery, Bauer, Bradshaw, Kaikai and Efobi are likely to feature in tomorrow's Carabao Cup clash. Kaikai came on on Saturday and got a beautiful assist for Knight's opener, so he can be expected to start and play at least 60 minutes. Lavery will be itching to start his first game of the season, and with Gassan Ahadme out with an injury, it may be now or never for Lavery to cement himself into the team.

Shane McLoughlin suffered a calf injury on the opposite leg and in Neil Harris' post-Bromley presser, he ruled the midfielder out of the Millwall clash.

The Neil Harris derby has no impact on the experienced coach

Neil told Cambridge United media that the most important game was Huddersfield on Saturday. Harris didn't turn his nose up at testing the group against a great Championship opponent in the cup. Harris referred to the clash as a "battle", so all focus will be on performing well against Millwall and not having anymore injuries to worry about.
