Promotion battle heats up ahead of Salford clash

The U's face an inform Salford City side at the Abbey live on Sky Sports+. With the pressure of promotion on both sides, expect a cagey start to the game and a tense final half an hour. Salford average a goal in the 68th minute when playing away from home. Cambridge United were called out by manager Neil Harris who demanded more from his subs on Tuesday. The U's will be hoping for another home performance and result as was delivered last Saturday vs Gillingham.

The U's should revert back to a 3/5 at the back to match up 1v1 against the Salford attacking wing backs. Kaikai should also drift wider to overload the wings in a 2v1 situation. The U's have shown recent success from wide areas, creating our best chance of the game on Tuesday night from a cross. The U's will also be able to overload the midfield if Kaikai and Knight both stay central. This would create a 5v3 in the midfield which United could take advantage of.

Salford have been able to go on a 4 game winning run after recording just 1 win between 5th February and 3rd March. With quality across the pitch it's their depth that has led to them sitting in a lofty 5th place. On Tuesday, they were able to bring on Daniel Udoh and Fabio Borini, which helped them win the game 3-1.

I have done a full scouting report that can be seen below:
